I don’t define myself by…
what I do, but I have a passion for it. I like to invest in platforms and services. I gravitate toward businesses in communication services, Internet services/infrastructure, and financial services/fin-tech. I like the fact that these are big markets where there is an opportunity to wedge mission critical service delivery infrastructure right into the middle of the value-chain.

I am a family man…
I live with my wife (Wendy) and my kids (Sophia, Anna and Reid) in Denver, CO. Wendy and I moved here in 1996 and we have made Colorado our home.
I chose the theme of this blog, non-linear, because…
it describes how I think and the lens through which I veiw the world. There are no straight lines to success and sometimes the best ideas are orthoganal. Success in building a great company requires an ability to adapt quickly to “curves in the road”. Those that adapt best get to the finish line first. I like to spend time looking around the curves in the sectors I follow to see what is coming next.
In my spare time…
I like to ski off-piste or make fast turns on-piste, golf, hike, read, suffocate on my rowing machine, and watch the Red Wings dominate a hockey game.
I hope…
you enjoy what you read here. Some times you may even agree. But whether you agree or not, I’m interested in hearing what you think. Comment freely and don’t be a stranger; I am easy to reach.
